Today, the styles of the Malay architecture have inspired many young architects and engineers in designing Malay's contemporary architecture. In the recent years, many modern buildings have focused their design concepts on the Malay architecture, particularly the government buildings. Various roof shapes have derived from the Malay houses such as from the districts of Kuantan, Kampar, Pelalawan and pesisir.
